Kenora OPP reported
at a Kenora Police Services Board meeting this morning that the cost of policing
came in more than $500,000 under estimated costs in 2010, its first full year
policing the city.

Detachment commander Insp. Dave Lucas filed his first
full-year annual report to the board and noted the actual cost of policing the

Lucas reported
the force responded to more than 15,000 calls for service in Kenora, down from
